My Coaching Philosophy
I am a certified distance coach, but aside from the education, my approach to coaching is built around one simple idea: every runner is different. That means your training plan should fit you. I take the time to understand your goals, schedule, and experience so we can build a plan that makes sense.
More than just the workouts, training with me is about accountability, education, and connection. I’ll make sure you always know exactly why you’re doing what you’re doing. I’ll be there to check in, make adjustments, and keep you motivated along the way.
The 4 steps to training together
-
One-on-one consultation to understand your running background, goals, and lifestyle.
-
Set up your training app and learn how to interpret your training paces and workout types.
-
Begin training with personalized workouts built specifically for you.
-
Stay connected through ongoing communication, regular check-ins, and adjustments as needed.
The VDOT Platform
I use the VDOT platform with athletes to build personalized training plans, track progress, and get you ready for race day. All your workouts, paces, and training zones are displayed in the app, so everything you need is in one place.
Your VDOT score shows your current running fitness and will increase as you improve. If you are curious, enter a recent race time and the calculator will show you your projected race times. I've found the VDOT scores to be a reliable indicator of where my clients should start their training so we'll if you've ran a race within the last few months, we'll use that as your baseline and build from there!
